The flu has claimed the lives of at least 30 children so far this season including some deaths reported in Florida. As some school districts close due to the rampant spread of the virus, the CDC warns that this year’s flu season will likely extend well into April.

Pharmacies throughout Florida are experiencing shortages of the antiviral medication used to treat the influenza virus. The severity of the flu epidemic combined with the antiviral shortage has prompted MAGIC 94.9 and Centra Care to partner in giving FREE flu shots in the Tampa Bay área.

Beginning Wednesday January 31 through Friday February 2, all six Tampa-area Centra Care locations will offer three days of free flu shots to patients. Residents can stop by any clinic from 8am-8pm and receive a vaccine on the spot for the entire family.
