Last week, the Seminole County Health Department reported that a local woman had a confirmed case of measles.
In 2012, only one case was reported in the entire state of Florida. But this latest case is the fifth known LOCAL measles infection this year.
Measles is spread by contact with droplets from the nose, mouth or throat of an infected person. Sneezing and coughing can put contaminated droplets into the air.
